projects,procrastination,passion,

Tomorrow marks the half year point.Do you have goals for this year which are growing faded and cobwebby? I seem to be finding myself in the path of a few people who are full of ideas and and empty on action or direction.
I am, like everyone, familiar with the condition! However , I am less and less so.

I have found that however annoying it may be,there is usually a reason for all the things we do or don't do. Some of these reasons may not even be in our conscious awareness and those are the ones that are the invisible trip wires on the path to creativity.

So, you have a project. You've wanted to do it for ages. You have been thinking about it, maybe even got to talking about it,but weeks & days are passing and it's still at square one. When you think  about it ,maybe the initial excitement has become a slighly queasy feeling  in your stomach. You find yourself doing ridiculous little things to do to avoid starting.Finding umimportant household tasks ,useless t.v. shows, papers or magazines to feel occupied but none of which are related to your project path. So what is going on?

I'm going to suggest some things in the next blogs.
I use eft/meridian tapping on all this stuff. I am a meridian tapping practitioner and I LOVE to apply it to creativity & creative blocks. The tapping on acupuncture points on the face and torso while tuning into an emotion/thought can help shift energetic blocks in the body & mind. In my own experience it can be like unclogging a drain & things just start flowing again!!

First, write out the essence of  your project or idea in one sentence.Note that if you cannot do this you probably need to get a little clearer on your goal.
Take the time to do this , you cannot hope to reach a destination if all the parts of you are wandering around in different directions.Start to break it down into about ten steps. If some of the steps are still too huge they may need to be assigned to a mini-project status. Now before you go off on a marvellously distracting things- I- need- to- buy-for my project trip, do this.
Have a read of your list. How do you feel? Is the project  exciting. interesting  or purposeful?Would it get you out of bed on a rainy monday morning?
If not , my first question is why are you doing it?
And that is your next little exercise. you have the what but what really gets the blood flowing is the why.So write a little ,brainstorm and play with the feelings, goals ,hopes & visions you want to have when you have completed the project. Why do you want to do it?I would be using tapping with all this information to really get at the roots.
This can seem slow at first but if you build foundations like this to a project you will be rock solid & committed and less likely to be mystified when you find yourself wandering in a shop you don't want to be in looking at stuff you don't need and feeling that self imposed guilt about what you 'should' be doing.
If you get clear on this stuff, you also have the chance to dump projects that you have outgrown. Scrap projects that you were doing for non joyous reasons. And shred projects that do not ring true anymore. And that can be the most worthwhile project of all.

I'd love your comments . More to come on this topic . Join me on facebook : )
